A study made by Statistics Canada examines the factors associated with English–French bilingualism among Canadian children and youth aged 5 to 17 in 2006 using data from the 2006 and 2016 censuses population, as well as integrated census data from 2006 and 2016.
In 2016, the English–French bilingualism rate among youth aged 5 to 17 in Canada outside Quebec was 15%, up from less than 13% in 2006. In 2016, the percentage among their Quebec counterparts was 33 percent, up from 28 percent in 2006.
